The Day I Don't Want To Remember

Posted by Amota Eromanga on June 8, 2012 at 9:35 PM

A few more days before my fiance arrived in Kiribati from Hawaii. I was very happy when I got a mail from him saying that he had something to tell me when he came back. Thoughts were running through my mind thinking that may be he was going to fix our wedding day.

I couldn't imagine how happy I was. My friends were suprised to see me like that. They asked why and I told them of my coming man and his mail. "He is going to tell me something." I told my friends.

"Congratulations girl, you nailed it!" they said. Their words made me happier.

He finally came on such a calm and peaceful day. We both felt happy to see each other again ... until the night of the welcome party. He finally asked me to a place where we could talk. I was filled with joy the moment I was again alone with him. We sat together in silence but I knew it was natural – he was just thinking of how to start.

Then he finally began, “I am sorry to tell you this but I know it is best to let you know. While I was in Hawaii, I fell in love with a girl named Amy and I wanted to marry her. I had already asked her parents that I loved their daughter and wanted to marry her, and they said 'yes'. The reason why I came back is to tell you this so that you won't wait for me. I am so sorry."

What a moment! I just could do nothing other than crying my heart out. I felt as if someone had really stabbed me in the heart!
