I do not know what to do
|
One Friday afternoon, I went to my friends to tell them of our picnic on Saturday. Then I went back home. On my way back, I began to feel something strange. It was as if something bad was happening at home. I hurriedly walked back without stopping anywhere along the way.
When I got home, I saw my father beating my mother. I was very sad and angry when I saw dad kicking, punching and beating my mother. I knew that kaokioki (coconut wine) was confusing him because he looked very drunk. He then took a big stick and hit my mother’s back.
My mother shouted and tried to escape, “Help, help me!”
I felt sorry and pain seeing that so I ran to my father and pushed him away. He fell onto the ground. Then I helped mother to my uncle’s house. When we got there, my uncle asked what happened. I told him everything my father had done. When he heard that, he was very angry so he went to fight my father. My father fell onto the ground and my uncle beat him the way he had beaten mother. I ran to my uncle and tried to move him away from dad. Then my uncle and I went back to his house.
I hated dad and could not forgive him for what he had done to my mother.
